A pair of local boys golf teams head to Chariton today for an invitational that will put them up against some of the stronger programs in Class 3A.

Knoxville and Pella High will be among a field that includes strong 3A squads like Fairfield, Centerville and Creston, and Little Dutch head coach Bob Fessler says the meet will provide a great opportunity to prepare for what it’s like to be in pressure situations.

Knoxville head coach Brian Barkey says he’s looking forward to see what his team can do in competition, after seeing what they’ve done in practice on their own time.

After today’s invitational in Chariton, the Panthers and Little Dutch will see each other again this coming Tuesday, as Pella High hosts Knoxville in a boys golf dual at Bos Landen Golf Club.
