The William Penn Softball Squad recently qualified for the N-A-I-A Nationals and there are a couple of Knoxville connections with the Lady Statesmen. Former Panther standout Ashley Kingery has started nearly every game this season at catcher and helped William Penn to a 46-16 record, winning the Midwest Collegiate Conference regular season and tournament championships. The other connection is current Knoxville Softball Coach Steph Christner who is an assistant at William Penn with her father and head coach Mike. The Lady Statesmen start pool play in Gulf Shores, Alabama tomorrow against Azusa Pacific. Other teams in pool play are Olivet Nazarene, and Auburn Montgomery.
