Four Central College players have been named to the D3baseball.com All-Central Region team while Adam Stevens received coach of the year recognition. Senior hurler Joel Pulliam was a first-team pick and relief pitcher Judson McKown was tagged for the second team. Outfielder Sam Stetzel and catcher Max Seeman were third-team choices.
           
Also the Iowa Conference coach of the year, Stevens piloted the Dutch to a school-record 29 wins. Central captured its first outright title since 1948 after sharing the crown in 1975 and 2006. Under Stevens, the Dutch have racked up more than 200 wins in nine seasons, including a record 51 victories in the past two years.
           
Pulliam, the league’s pitcher of the year, notched an 8-1 record and a 2.79 ERA. He allowed 62 hits and 26 walks in 80.2 innings while striking out 77. Pulliam set school records for career strikeouts (226) and shutouts (5) while leading the pitching staff to season records for lowest ERA (2.43) and shutouts (6).
           
McKown led the Dutch with a 1.20 ERA. He posted a 6-2 pitching record, yielding 45 hits and 10 walks in 45.0 innings. He struck out 25 batters and had three saves. McKown was a second-team all-league pick.
           
Stetzel, a two-time all-conference selection with first-team distinction in 2012, was Central’s hitting leader with a .387 average. He had 53 hits, six doubles, 23 RBIs and eight stolen bases as well as a .987 fielding percentage.
           
Seeman batted .333, including 31 hits, four doubles and 21 RBIs. He was errorless for the season, boasting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
           
Central compiled a 29-11 overall record and won the league by a four-game margin with a 19-5 mark. The Dutch also made an appearance in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball poll for a week at No. 30.
