Monday night’s Heart of Iowa Conference Track and Field Meet in Monroe was every bit as competitive as expected, as the host Mustangs claimed fifth place in both the girls and boys team standings. On the girls’ side, it was Gilbert versus the field, as the Tigers piled up 158.50 points. From there, only 42 points separated second from seventh place. North Polk took the team title in the boys’ race with 113 points, followed by Nevada, CMB, Gilbert and PCM – who finished within 14 points of each other.
