With conference and postseason tournaments just around the corner, our local tennis teams have been finalizing plans for which players will play singles and doubles and at which seed. For the Pella Christian boys tennis players, head coach Karen Risch says they’ve got a pretty good idea where everyone will play, especially since it won’t deviate much from what they’ve been doing already.

“We’re definitely playing our No. 1 doubles team [together]. We think they have the highest chance of going the furthest, but we’re kind of sticking with the way things have been,” said Risch. “We have Ty Sajdak that’s been injured, so he’s going to be a singles player, just in case he can’t [play]. We’re kind of keeping it the same. It’s worked so far, so we’re going to see how it goes on Monday.”

Monday’s Little Hawkeye Conference boys tennis tournament is being held at Grinnell High School.
