Behind solid hitting at the bottom of the line-up and a strong performance on the mound by Schyler Kane, the Pella High baseball team was able to do something no other squad had done yet against Grinnell this season – earn a win – as the Dutch toppled the Tigers 10-4 Friday night in Pella. Up 3-2 entering the bottom of the fifth, Pella ripped the Tigers’ pitching for seven runs, highlighted by a two-RBI home run blast by Brett Kingery.

Kingery finished the night going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and 3 RBI. Also notable was Aaron Tysseling, who went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Kane pitched the complete game, scattering six hits and striking out seven Grinnell batters. The Little Dutch are now 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
