Eighth-grader Rikki Hall pounded out a pinch hit two R-B-I double in the seventh inning and The Knoxville Softball Squad held off Grinnell in the bottom of the seventh to post a come-from-behind 5-3 win. Knoxville scored first to take a 2-0 lead, but back came Grinnell in the bottom of the fifth to plate three runs and take a 3-2 lead. That set the stage for Hall’s heroics. Emily Wallace went 2/4, Haley Worrall was 3/4, and Cheyenne Jones continued to weld a big bat going 2/4 with an R-B-I. Wallace got an efficient win going the distance allowing three runs, while scattering seven hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Knoxville is 6-15 on the season and 3-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Knoxville takes tonight off and will be back in action tomorrow at home against Oskaloosa.
