The Knoxville Baseball Squad was swept by Grinnell last night, but the difference was Knoxville got off to the good start as opposed to recent games when the Panthers were down early on. In game one, Knoxville jumped out to an 8-2 lead only to see the Tigers storm back and win 12-8. Bryce Zoutte took the loss in game one, however Coach Joel Johnson said the guys played much better than the last couple of games. One key in the game one loss was the fact that Knoxville stranded 14 runners in scoring position. The night cap was all Grinnell as the Tigers on four early Panther errors jumped on top 5-0 and won 12-1 ending the game after five innings. Kevin Woodhouse took the loss in game two. Knoxville is now 4-16 on the season and 2-8 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers are off tonight in preparation or a conference game with Oskaloosa tomorrow night.
