Melcher-Dallas came away with a split in a pair of tight contests in Tuesday night’s softball/baseball doubleheader with Moravia.

In the softball game, the Saints gave the Bluegrass Conference leader everything they could handle in a 3-1 loss.  Lexi Crozier was solid in the circle, giving up just five hits while striking out eight Mohawk batters; but hits were hard to come by for the Saints.  Sydney Wilson delivered an RBI double that put Melcher-Dallas’s only run on the board.

The baseball game saw the Saints finish on the positive side of a narrow margin, as they claimed a 5-4 victory.  It was a big night for pitcher Kenneth Wadle, who earned the win by striking out nine Moravia hitters and only allowing three earned runs and one walk.  Trent Flesher led the Saints at the plate, finishing his night going 2-for-4.
