A close game early on got away from the Pella Christian baseball team as the night wore on, as the Eagles suffered their third loss to Grinnell this season in a 13-3 setback Monday night.  The Tigers held a 3-2 advantage through three innings, then stretched the advantaged to 5-3 before errors and mental mistakes put the Eagles in a hole they were unable to pull themselves out of.

Starting pitcher Caleb Morgan took the loss, allowing four hits and eight walks in four innings of work, while also striking out five Grinnell batters.  At the plate, seniors Dan Hessing and Will VandeVoort led the way; each going 2-for-4.  Hessing also tallied an RBI and a stolen base.

The Pella Christian baseball team is 5-14 overall and 1-9 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.  They’re off until Thursday, when they host ADM.
