The Pella Christian girls’ soccer season came to an end Friday night with a 2-0 loss to Bondurant-Farrar in the Class 1A Regional Semifinals. The two squads battled to a scoreless tie by halftime. Just four minutes into the second half, the Bluejays finished a rebound shot into the Eagle net to take a 1-0 lead. Pella Christian still had hopes of a win until late, when Bondurant-Farrar scored a second goal with four minutes remaining in the game.

Shelby Sytsma led the Eagle defense with 30 defensive stops. Goalkeeper Jenna Roose recorded 21 saves in the game. “Our girls gave it their best shot tonight,” observed Eagle Coach Bill Collman. “Jenna Roose was fantastic in goal. Our defense really kept us in the game.”

The Eagles end the season with an 8-11 record. During the season, the team was involved in five overtime games, and six losses were by only one goal.
