KNIA/KRLS’s Severe Weather Action Team took to the airwaves at about 4:30 yesterday evening after the National Weather Service called for a severe thunderstorm warning. The warning lasted until just before 5:15 and involved the northeast portion of the county. Wind gusts reached upwards of 70 mph in the main part of the cell. We received reports of a jackknifed semi near Monroe and down tree limbs in New Sharon. The storm was strongest north of the county line.
