The Twin Cedars Sabers baseball team improved their conference record to 5-0 last night with a 5-3 win vs. Moulton Udell. Coy Moore threw 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs while striking out 9. Corey Harrell threw the final 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no hits.  Twin Cedars head coach Matt Miller says his pitchers simply throwing strikes has done wonders for the team defensively.

“That keeps the defense alive. They [the defense] obviously appreciate that – it keeps everyone on their toes,” said Miller. “They’ve just been aggressive, throwing strikes, and we’ve done really well inning-wise. Our pitchers are able to throw deep into the game when we need them to; and we’re just tickled so far with how they’re doing on the mound.”

Eric Clark was 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and a walk while Collin Still was two for two with 2 RBI’s. The Sabers improve their overall record to 9-3. Wednesday the Sabers play at Albia and Thursday they play at Principal Park vs. BGM at noon.
