While it was not a full moon last night…the strangeness at the Knoxville Raceway was evident. Following heat races, the track crew re-worked the track due to drivers reporting that it was beginning to take rubber and their tires were used up. Officials waved the tire rule for the 410s which says a driver must run the entire night with the same right rear that they qualified on or risk losing their starting spot in the feature. After the re-work was completed, J Kinder blitzed the field in the 305s winning by nearly five seconds for his first career Knoxville win. Brian Brown would rule the rest of the night sweeping the 360 and 410 A-Mains and using lapped traffic to his advantage in both races. In the 360 feature he got Jon Agan caught in the middle of two lapped cars on the bottom, and drove by on top to take the win. In the 410 race, he used slower car to drive past Terry McCarl out of turn four on the final lap to steal the 410 show. Brown, who had not raced at Knoxville in over a month said winning two races more than made up for the lost time.
