The high school softball season may have officially ended two weeks ago for the Pleasantville softball team, but the Trojans are far from finished when it comes to working on their game. Pleasantville head coach Robert Friday says a number of members of his squad that will be returning next season plan to take advantage of several ways to improve.

“I think our biggest thing right now is to focus on our hitting. That’s the biggest change going from where they were to where we need to go,” said Friday. “We’ll be bringing some people in over the next few weeks and months to work with our hitters; we’re going to do some winter camps and Central and Simpson; [and] a lot of girls are going to play club ball, or ASA or USSSA and try to better themselves that way.”

The Pleasantville softball team was 11-22 overall and 8-7 in the Pride of Iowa Conference this past season; and reached the Class 2A Regional Semifinals.
