The Knoxville Baseball Squad will take on Chariton tonight in the first round of the class three-A District in Knoxville. The Panthers are the overall number seven seed in the sub state that also includes Norwalk, Winterset, Carlisle and top ranked Dallas Center-Grimes in the other district. Knoxville Coach Joel Johnson says his team is playing with a nothing to lose attitude. Johnson is not saying who he will start as both Justin Katich and Bryce Zoutte have been solid on the mound this season. Knoxville is 8-25 this season and is playing a Chariton squad that has defeated the Panthers twice in 2012. The first time was a 14-1 route in Chariton, however the second go-around was much closer as Knoxville closed an 11-2 lead to 11-9 before falling. You can hear the action on AM 1320 KNIA with Derek Cardwell at around seven.
