The Knoxville Baseball Squad now with the regular season finished…prepare for the class 3A District Friday night against Chariton. It is no secret that the Panthers have struggled this season at 8-25, but Coach Joel Johnson has not been concerned so much with the wins and losses as he has been about improvement this season. He says as long as the players do the basic things like throwing…catching and hitting…the wins and losses take care of themselves. Johnson adds the trip to southeast Iowa over the weekend may have refocused the team. He adds it was a good to get away from the area for a couple of days, and not just play teams that Knoxville rarely sees, but also give the team some idea of what it takes to have a winning program.
