The Twin Cedars softball team punched their ticket to the next round of the Class 1A Regional Softball Tournament with a 5-3 win Friday night in Moravia.

The Sabers notched the win against their fellow Bluegrass Conference champions by getting to Mohawks’ All-State pitcher Annie Moore. At the plate, the Sabers’ broke open at 3-3 game with a two-RBI out single from Taylor Smith in the fourth put the game out of reach. The run backed up solid previous blasts by Kassidy Swayne, Brittany Roby, and Alee Hugen.

On the night, Roby was 3-for-4 – batting a home run shy of the cycle with 2 RBI and a run, with Smith went 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Mackenzie Sedlock got the win, allowing six hits and one walk, while striking out two. The win moves the Sabers’ into Monday’s Regional Final in Chariton against Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
