Martensdale-St. Mary’s put five quick runs on the scoreboard, and Twin Cedars was unable to rally, as the Blue Devils ended the Sabers’ season Monday night 8-4 in the Class 1A Regional Softball Finals.

Twin Cedars made it interesting, though, pulling to within 5-4; but left runners in scoring position in the fourth inning and never threatened again.  The No. 3-ranked Blue Devils scored two more runs in the sixth inning and a final tally in the seventh to ice the win.

The run to the Regional Finals capped off a season that saw Twin Cedars overcome plenty of adversity on their way to a third consecutive split of the Bluegrass Conference title.  They finish the season at 24-15 overall.
