With the start of the 2012-13 athletics season just days away, Central College fans are invited to a “Meet the coaches” ice cream social Monday evening on the Central College campus in Pella. The event is open to the public and is free—as is the ice cream.

The fall sport coaches will give a quick update on the upcoming season and interim athletics director Eric Van Kley will introduce the other head coaches for Central’s 19 intercollegiate sports, including the newest member of the Central staff, men’s basketball coach Craig Douma. But the majority of the hour will be devoted to allowing the fans and coaches to interact.

Fans will also have an opportunity to join the Central Club, one of the nation’s oldest small-college athletics booster organizations. “Meet the Coaches” will begin at 6:30 pm. in the Graham Conference Center Annex.
