According to the latest USDA Drought Monitor, Marion County is still in a severe drought. The drought continues to shrink across the state with the extreme drought designation shrinking to less than 60%, but can be seen just north of the county line. Marion County is on track for average rainfall for August after nearly 2 inches of rain last weekend. There is rain in the forecast for Labor Day weekend, during the midday hours on Monday.
