When Kordell Stewart played in the N-F-L…he was one of the first modern players to play different positions on offense, defense, and special teams. A few years later Antwaan Randle El became another multi-position player for the Steelers and Redskins. So, what does Knoxville’s Tanner Dunkin have in common with these former N-F-L standouts? Dunkin could be Knoxville’s version of “slash.” Coach Troy Rider says Dunkin can play multiple positions on offense like running back and wide receiver, special teams, he is the leading candidate for kicker and possibly deep returns. Dunkin also can play multiple positions on defense as well. Rider says the coaches have to figure out what not to use Dunkin in as to not wear him out. Dunkin, only sophomore got a few snaps on varsity last season but looks to contribute much more in 2012.
