Labor Day weekend means many people from out of town will be coming to Lake Red Rock for camping and boating. The Lake Red Rock Corps of Engineers Office says that the campgrounds have filled up, but there are a few spots left. They have 3 spots at Howell Station, 1 at North Overlook as well as 8 tent spots, 15 at Ivan’s Campground, 6 spots at Whitebreast, and 2 at Wallashuck. The remaining spots are given out on a first come first serve basis.

As for county campgrounds, Robert’s Creek Park is completely full for reservations, though there are a number of first-come, first-serve sites. Naturalist Marla Mertz tells KNIA/KRLS News that people are already beginning to claim those spots for the weekend, so they might not last that long. Marion County Park, on the other hand, does have a number of sites still available for what’s traditionally the last weekend of the summer. For more information, call 842-2214
