The Knoxville Football Squad will be led on the field this season by a new quarterback. Gerrit Davis got spot duty last season now will be handed the reins of the Panther spread offense. Coach Troy Rider says Davis has been getting chalk talk sessions with Offensive Coordinator William Mosell, and Rider adds he is one of the most accurate passers he has seen in a long time. The question is for Davis is, when the bullets start flying, can he make plays? Rider says teams and fans will see a large dose of Colton Spaur this season as he will be the workhorse in the backfield. Spaur in just five games with the Panthers last season led the ground attack with 543 yards. Knoxville will hold a scrimmage at Ken Locke Stadium tomorrow night at six, the public is invited to attend, and admission will be a bottle of Gatorade or another sports drink. Knoxville opens its season next Friday at P-C-M.
