Twin Cedars opens the new volleyball season needing to replace some key seniors from a season ago, but also bringing back a number of returning starters that are ready to take on those leadership roles. Sabers’ head coach Dani Breon says her incoming seniors began showing they could lead by example during last week’s team camp at Central College.

“Alee Hugen, Ayla Crosby and Payton Fee are all really good seniors that have had varsity experience under their belts; and then we add a new one as well with Kenzie McCarty,” said Breon. “They really rallied the team when we were down. I saw Ayla getting them back up, and so was Alee. Alee was definitely being a leader – when she saw the ball, she would just scrap for it and fight hard.”

Twin Cedars is scheduled to open the 2012 volleyball season at home on August 30th against Eddyville-Blakesburg.
