Defense was a key in Knoxville’s win over P-C-M last Friday night. While the Panthers surrendered 460 yards through the air…they held the Mustangs to -41 yards on the ground including two quarterback sacks. Coach Troy Rider says that was a good confidence builder as the Panthers’ welcome Newton for their home opener. He says the Cardinals may run the ball as many times as P-C-M threw it last week. The Cardinals were held to just 63 yards on the ground against Norwalk last Friday. Rider says the Cardinals offensive line will be bigger than P-C-M’s line.
