The Knoxville Football Squad will try to get to 2-0 on the season, however standing in the Panthers’ way is Newton. Knoxville held P-C-M last week in a 14 point win to -41 yards rushing, while giving up 460 yards through the air. Coach Troy Rider says Newton will test his team with the run and hopes that for the second straight week Knoxville is up to the challenge. Rider adds offensively Quarterback Gerrit Davis got more comfortable as the game wore on last week. He says it is nice to have a running back like Colton Spaur who ran for 190 yards last week to take some of the pressure off of Davis. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and Mike Cunningham with the pregame show at seven…kick off at 7:30.
