Pleasantville’s Bronson Maeschen scored a big win for the local drivers last night in the Inaugural Capitani Classic at the Knoxville Raceway. Maeschen took off from his pole starting spot in the A-Main and lead all 25 laps of the feature race holding off a hard charging Tim Shaffer in the final laps. Many of the World of Outlaw drivers came to the non-sanctioned event and Joey Saldana was the highest finishing Outlaw driver in third place to complete the podium. Cody Darrah and Tim Kaeding completed the top five. Stevie Smith won the $1,000 to win Dash of States. Danny Lasoski seemingly had the race under control when a throttle link broke sending him to the pits with just three laps remaining. Southern Iowa Sprint Week will now shifts to the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa for the next two nights beginning with tonight’s Front Row Challenge.
