Brittany Roby of Twin Cedars and PCM’s Kelsey Townsend highlight this year’s list of local softball players chosen to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State Softball Teams.

Roby, who led the state in triples and batting average was a First Team All-State selection at outfielder. Townsend, a junior, was chosen as a First Team Utility player in Class 3A.

Additional All-State selections included Roby’s teammate, Brooke Dunkin, who was named Second Team All-State Catcher; while rival pitcher Lexi Crozier of Melcher-Dallas was also chosen to the Class 1A All-State second unit.

Pella Christian’s – Sami Veenstra – rounds out this year’s crop of local All-Staters. The Lady Eagles’ lone senior was tabbed for Second Team All-State honors in Class 2A.
