Unable to rally from early deficits, the Central College volleyball team suffered a disappointing Iowa Conference loss to Coe College Tuesday, 25-20, 25-15, 25-15. Central hit .229 the first set but couldn’t find its offensive rhythm the rest of the night, hitting .043 and .032 in the second and third sets. Outside hitter Tess Reinig and middle hitter Ashley Pedersen led the Dutch with seven kills apiece. Setter Claire Stewart had 23 assists and dug 12 balls. Libero Tori Zempel tallied 18 digs. The Dutch slip to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the Iowa Conference. They’ll tackle Coe again Friday at the Grinnell College Invitational.
