A chance to start the season 5-0 lies in front of the Pella Christian football team, as Sigourney-Keota comes into Pella to face the Eagles in non-district play. The Cobras are 2-2 overall and coming off of a high-scoring 50-44 win over Wapello last week. Pella Christian faces off against Sigourney-Keota’s trademark offense, something head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says will be a big key in winning tonight’s match-up.

“Our defensive line’s got their work cut out for them. Some people would argue the single-wing is the most deceptive offense in all of football,” said Kacmarynski. “So we have our work cut out for us as far as being a disciplined defense – everybody’s got their gap, everybody carry out their assignment – and if we do that I think we’ll have success against the single-wing. If we don’t, I think they [Sigourney-Keota] could make us look bad at times.”

Jamie Brockman and Larry Hessing will be live at Pella Christian for the call, which can be heard live at kniakrls.com. Coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. tonight, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. The game will also be heard in a delayed broadcast, immediately following the Pella High football game on 92.1 KRLS.
