PCM opened up Class 2A District 6 play Friday night at home with a 28-21 come-from-behind victory over CMB. The Mustangs struggled to contain the Raiders’ Zach Samson, as they trailed 14-7 at the break. Samson racked up 153 yards on the ground and another 76 through the air, but the Mustangs found a way to keep the CMB signal caller out of the end zone most of the 2nd half and come away with the win.

Mustangs’ head coach Greg Bonnett hopes the victory can propel his team to the next level next week.

“Our guys just have to keep focus on the win. That’s what’s important,” said Bonnett. “I hope to think we’re going to come out and we’re going to practice with some emotion and get some things done. I want us to come out and try to roll someone – not just try to squeak by – but actually try to roll another team for once.”

The PCM football team is now 2-3 overall and in Monroe again next week as they’ll face Interstate-35 for Homecoming.
