Pella High’s cross country teams put together yet another strong outing Monday night, as the boys claimed the team title and the girls finished runner-up at the Ballard Invitational.

Keegan Fitzsimmons edged out teammate Evan Jones for 4th place to lead the Pella boys – who landed six of their seven varsity runners in the top 11 spots and all seven in the top 20 en route to a team score of 28.

On the girls’ side, a second-place individual finish by Gabi Meirick paced the way for the green-and-white, as Pella finished with 70 points.  The squads have the remainder of the week off before running on the Iowa State University cross country course this Saturday, in a meet hosted by Des Moines Roosevelt.
