Pella Christian’s 43-20 win over Des Moines Christian on Friday night lifted the Eagles to a 4-0 start to the season, but left the team reeling from a loss, instead of getting to celebrate the victory.  Senior captain Caleb Morgan, the team’s leading rusher on offense and second-leading tackler on defense left the third quarter Friday night with an injury that was later determined to be a broken ankle.  Morgan will have to undergo surgery in the coming week and will be out for the remainder of the season, dealing a huge blow to a Pella Christian football team that counted upon him for not only his skills on the gridiron, but his leadership in the huddle.  Eagles’ head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says he feels terrible about the unfortunate circumstances dealt to Morgan, but knows he will continue to support his teammates as the Eagles move forward.  Pella Christian hosts Sigourney-Keota in non-district play this coming Friday night.
