The Pleasantville football team gets in a final run-through in practice today in preparation for Friday’s contest in Brooklyn against B-G-M. Despite last week’s 61-21 loss to Pekin, the Trojans made some significant steps forward on offense; in terms of total yardage, opportunities to run the football, and simply sustaining drives.

Pleasantville head football coach Gabe Bakker says some of that success can be attributed to having the same five guys work together on the line of scrimmage.

“I think that’s part of it. It was the first time that we got to keep the same offensive line two weeks in a row,” said Bakker. “Now we’re getting the chance to have the same offensive line work again this week – there haven’t been any injuries. That’s huge when you’re talking about the offensive line and the camaraderie and working together.”

This week the Trojans will again be counting on Michael Morris, Eric Perryman, Cody Marsh, Kasey Clary and Zach Patterson to lead the way up front. Pleasantville goes for their first victory of the season Friday night in Brooklyn in a game that will be streamed live at kniakrls.com
