Leaves are starting to fill up the yards after some nice breezy weather throughout Marion County. Knoxville Community Services Officer Arlene Worrall reminds Knoxville residents they should not be raking leaves into the street or sewer drains. She adds residents are allowed to burn yard waste, including leaves and branches less than three inches in diameter. She says you should not burn trash with that yard waste. If burning yard waste, residents should have a nearby water source and the fire should be supervised at all times. If you don’t want to burn your yard waste, Worrall says to bag it separately and leave it with your trash for your trash provider to pick up.
