Already facing the daunting task of having to open up the postseason on the road, the Pella Christian Eagles’ football team would love some momentum to take with them into the mid-week playoffs battle this coming Wednesday, and a defeat of Mount Ayr would do just that. The Raiders feature a quarterback who has passed for over 1,100 yards and has rushed himself for almost a thousand. Eagles head football coach, Rich Kacmarynski, said that most of their signal-caller’s yards through the air have come via a “shuffle pass” that’s really more of a run play than a pass play, so the majority of Pella Christian’s focus tonight will be stopping the run. An Eagles win tonight and a loss by Ogden would lock Pella Christian into the third spot in Class 1A District 7, which would more than likely mean a road game to Tri-Center Neola this Wednesday. Tonight’s game against the Eagles and Raiders will be live on 92.1 FM KRLS with Cory Houser and Jim Dingeman calling the action. The game will also be streamed live on kniakrls.com; pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff is slated for 7:00.
