Eagles to “Start from Scratch,” Try to Break Recent Slide Tonight

It’s “Back to Basics” for Coach Rich Kacmarynski and his Pella Christian Eagles team tonight. Having dropped their last two contests, the Eagles have a good chance to bounce back from their last few games against a Colfax-Mingo team that is a woeful 0 – 5 in Class 1A District 7 and 2 – 6 overall. The Eagles had had tremendous success stopping the run game of their opponents, but have fallen off the wagon in their last two losses. Coach Kacmarynski said that it’s all about getting aligned correctly up front. “It starts with lining up right,” Kacmarynski said. “We’ve had too many assignment, alignment mistakes the last two weeks where we didn’t line up right and we didn’t take the right gap. We play a gap control defense, and when we have guys not taking the right gap, it’s easy to give up a big play.” Pella Christian is 5 – 2 on the year and 2 – 2 in district play. You can hear tonight’s game streamed live on KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Larry Hessing calling the action with the pregame starting at 7:00 p.m. and kickoff at 7:30. We’ll also have a delayed broadcast of the game immediately following the Pella – Oskaloosa contest on 92.1 KRLS.
