In a highly-anticipated match-up between two powerhouses this year, the Pella High Little Dutch will be making the journey to Norwalk tonight in a game that has some postseason implications. Norwalk is a perfect 6 – 0 on the year and are 4 – 0 in district eight, while Pella has a 4 – 2 record, but are also undefeated in the district, with a 3 – 0 record. Tonight’s game is going to come down to several different factors, but for Pella, their main key to victory tonight will be their defense. “I think the best defense is our offense,” Pella High head coach, Jay McKinstrey said. “We want to try and keep them off the field. Last year in the playoff game, we did a great job of it. Even though we didn’t capitalize on every drive, we made them go the distance. Norwalk had to go 80 yards on about every possession. If they can do that on our defense this year, they’re going to win the game, and if not, then we’re certainly going to be where we need to be. That was Little Dutch Head Coach, Jay McKinstrey. If Pella wins tonight, they will assure themselves at least a trip to the playoffs, and have a district title within their grasp. You can hear tonight’s game on 92.1 KRLS with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:30.
