The Knoxville City Council approved moving forward with a tax increment finance agreement with Weiler during their regular meeting last night. Mayor Pro Tem Elsie Kemp also read a proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Knoxville. There was also more discussion on the proposed dog park. Proposed sites by Auld Park appear to be too small. It was suggested that dog park organizers consider city land near the Humane Society. The City also set a public hearing for October 15th to consider a new sign ordinance. Assistant City Manager Dylan Feik told the council the proposed new ordinance is less restrictive than the current ordinance and has been brought up in line with modern times.
