A Knoxville man is at the Lucas County Health Center after being involved in an accident over the weekend where three women died. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 19-year-old Garrett Joseph Hollinrake was eastbound on Highway 34 west of Chariton just after 9pm Saturday night when his pickup truck crossed the center line and struck a westbound car head-on. Olga Palencia, Dolores Rodas, and Julieta Mendez Cruz, all of Ottumwa, were in the car and were later pronounced dead. Hollinrake’s condition is unknown at this time. Chariton Police Department, Lucas County Sheriff’s Department, and Lucas County Fire and Rescue all assisted at the scene.
