The PCM Mustangs rebounded from their 1st district loss with a 42-0 beat down of the Clarke Indians. PCM scored early and often taking a 35-0 lead into the half which led to a continuous clock in the 2nd half. When asked to sight some highlights from the Mustangs convincing victory, Head Coach Greg Bonnett had plenty of praise for all of his players. “Right now, I’m really happy to see that our offense, the way we had to make the adjustments and start running the ball more and using our quarterback, the run game and the read game, how that all developed,” Coach Bonnett said. “[I’m] really happy to see those yards come out of our offense. I’m really happy with the defense. I thought we tackled well tonight, I thought we read our keys really well tonight. I thought we were flying around, I thought we were hitting. I think we held them to under 150 yards, which is outstanding.” Zach Uhlenhopp made his 1st career start at quarterback replacing the injured senior signal-caller, Nate VandeWall. Uhlenhopp was 3 for 8 passing for 34 yards and 1 score, but really sparked the offense and the ground game with 12 carries for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. The win kept the Mustangs alive in their quest for a 2nd consecutive district title at 3-1, and 4-4 overall. Next week, PCM will host Davis County in their home finale in Monroe.
