Following a sweep Tuesday of Little Hawkeye Conference foe Norwalk, the road to the Class 2A Volleyball Regionals doesn’t get any easier for the 11 – 13 Pella Christian Eagles girls volleyball team, as they’ll make the drive to Eddyville-Blakesburg tonight for another tough bout. Though their records may be different, the Norwalk Warriors and the Rockets aren’t too different out on the court. “I think Eddyville’s going to be a team that has a lot of confidence,” Pella Christian girls volleyball coach, Cindy Nikkel said. “They have a good hitter they go to a lot, so we’re going to do a lot of the same thing we did against Norwalk and putting our best blockers up against them.” That was Eagles head volleyball coach, Cindy Nikkel. The Rockets, at one point during the season, had won 16 consecutive matches. They come into play with a 23 – 6 record. Each team could face each other in Region 6 of the Class 2A Volleyball Regionals tournament ; the Rockets have a bye into the quarterfinals of the tournament, and will be awaiting the winner of the preliminary match between the Eagles and North Mahaska.
