After losing their first game of the season last Friday against H-L-V, the Melcher-Dallas Saints’ 8-man team has to “hit the books” for their upcoming game against an also-tough Wayne troop. This will be the second straight week that the Saints face an undefeated team. Melcher-Dallas head coach, Ryan Conrad says that his team needs to take the things they’ve learned thus far and put them into action against these tougher teams at the end of their schedule. “Yeah, we don’t have a lot of time to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves,” Coach Conrad said. “We have to get it turned around quickly. We have a lot of [film] we can sit through and look at, and ways of getting better, probably some fundamental issues that we still need to work to get corrected. You can get away with [them] for a while, but when you get into the big physical teams that we’re going to play here in the next few weeks, then we’ll have to get them corrected.” Wayne comes into the match Friday with a 6 – 0 record, while Melcher-Dallas is 5 – 1 on the year. A win by Melcher-Dallas on Friday would guarantee them a playoff spot in Eight Man District 5.
