The second debate of the presidential election was held Thursday night. Vice Presidential Candidates Paul Ryan and Joe Biden both focused on domestic and foreign policy at the debate. Political psychologist Randal Renstrom at Central College says Biden did what he needed to do in the debate, energizing the Democratic base after President Obama’s less than enthusiastic showing in the last debate. He says Biden was assertive, and hammered Mitt Romney on his “47 percent” comments. Renstrom says Ryan was on the defense more than the attack, but more than held his own against the seasoned and experienced Joe Biden.
