Nicole Strasko had 27 points, but it wasn’t enough to overpower the visiting North Central Cardinals, as the Central women’s basketball team fell 88 – 83 last night. The Dutch were behind by as many as 17, but were able to tie the game late. However, they could not get any shots to go and North Central clinched it late with clutch free throw shooting. Strasko also grabbed a school record 22 rebounds in the loss. Jessy Stika also had a double-double, with 18 points, 12 of them from the charity stripe, and 13 rebounds. The biggest story of the game was turnovers for Central, who committed 26 of them, many coming from the full court pressure the Cardinals applied. Central is now 3 – 1 on the season and will travel to Oskaloosa tomorrow night to play William Penn at 8:00 p.m.
