Returning a good chunk of their 2011-12 season team this year, the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team is ready to get things underway and will first be tested on the road at West Marshall on Monday. West Marshall is coming off a 23 – 1 season, where their only loss was a one point heartbreaker to PCM in the regional final game, where the winner would go to Des Moines. Eagles head coach, Larry Hessing, told KNIA/KRLS Sports that the keys to victory for his team will be to play hard-nosed defense, especially against West Marshall’s interior game, where they will be looking to get some looks to their bigger players in the post. The season opener between the Eagles and Trojans is Monday, and starts with the JV game at 6:00 p.m. with the varsity game tipping off immediately after.
