There’s Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday… but non-profits nationwide are hoping that today’s the day you’ll consider giving back. Giving Tuesday [2] is a new promotion this year that’s helping charitable organizations during the holiday season. Debbie Kissinger at HCI Care Services says they and Visiting Nurse Services are teaming together to have a text message drive. On Tuesday, she says you can text 46986 to donate to HCI Care Services, keyword “dignity” and 72466 to donate to Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa, keyword “family”. You’ll get a text back asking you how much you’d like to give.

You may also consider giving to KNIA/KRLS Food Drive, a number of non-profits, or one of the many projects going on in Marion County
