Following a decent 13 – 8 season in 2011-12, Pella Christian’s head basketball coach, Larry Hessing, heading into this upcoming season starting on Monday, is excited about molding his group of varsity players into an outstanding group of guys who want to challenge for the Little Hawkeye Conference title. Hessing told KNIA/KRLS Sports he’s anxious to see what caliber of players he and his coaching staff can put on the court for their opener at West Marshall, and for the rest of the 2012-13 year. The Eagles boys’ opening game at West Marshall starts with the JV game at 6:00 p.m., and the varsity game tips off shortly after.
