The annual Festival of Trees at the Marion County Historical Village takes place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Area businesses and organizations have decorated more than 40 trees, and they need help deciding who is best. Participants are invited to donate money toward the tree they like best. All the money collected will go toward Marion County Community Action for Christmas baskets for families in need.

There will also be a variety of other family activities, such as mule drawn wagon riders. Katie Davis and her folk singing group will be there Saturday from 2-3pm, and local author Helen Boertje will be signing copies of her recently published book about old-time one room school houses in Marion County. The Festival of Trees takes place from 1-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
